Do you have a spending problem? Are you lured into popular advertising and can’t seem to find a way to stop yourself from spending your way into debt? Whether you realize it or not, it is possible to be debt free – and it starts with controlling your spending.
How I Avoid Debt With My Spending
While I am not perfect, I have been able to control my spending for the last two years. Some of you may not believe it, but I have managed to stay in the black each month – and I don’t make that much money. How do I say debt free? It’s easy, I know how much I make and therefore how much money I have to spend. Every month there are expenses that stay close to the same and there are others that change. Yet, on the most part, I can anticipate how much extra money I have to spend however I want. Knowing this number and sticking to it are two completely different things. It takes a lot of diligence, but I have found one trick that makes it easy.
It’s as Simple as Asking One Question
The next time you are tempted to buy something, just ask yourself one question: “Do I Really Need this?” I think by stopping and asking yourself this question, you will make great strides to control your spending and stay debt free. In asking this question, you force yourself to evaluate the situation. While it is possible that you can still convince yourself that you do need it when you don’t, I would bet that it will help you change your spending habits. Others may try to throw complicated software at you to help you stay or get out of debt. I am just suggesting a simple question. Most importantly, by starting with this simple solution, it ensures that everyone can do it. I mean, who can’t ask one question before buying something?
